Insect shield introduced the first EPA-registered insect-repellent apparel in July of 2003. Their technology provides an effective, odorless and invisible protection against bugs such as mosquitoes, ticks, ants, flies, chiggers, and midges through up to 70 washes! Insect Shield has also partnered with a number of agencies and international relief organizations to help use their technology to protect against insects as a daily aid. You can find Insect Shields links at the bottom of the page.
What we think:
We think Insect Shield is AWESOME!! A few months ago, they had a facebook promotion where they gave away their Insect Shield Bandanas. I participated and got one for my husband, who recently starting working nights as a train engineer. He had to keep the overhead light on while he was driving to see the controls, which made a cloud of bugs fly around his head and neck. The bugs would get in his hair and go down his shirt. When we received the bandana, he was extremely excited (yet skeptical) to try it out. So he wore it around his neck that night at work...and guess what?! NO BUGS!! The bugs stayed off of him completely. None in his hair or down his shirt. He was amazed and loved it!! We have continued to wash it daily for him to use and it still works like a charm. It does exactly what it says. It's odorless and you can't tell it's not a normal bandana, besides its amazing abilities to keep bugs away. We HIGHLY recommend ANY of Insect Shields products. Their customer service is great and shipping is very speedy!

Love it! We could definitely use this here in San Antonio, where we're being eaten alive at night. My husband in particular is horribly allergic (he gets quarter-sized welts from each bite and usually has upwards of 200 from an hour or less outside) and has always desperately wanted a hammock. Sounds like this was meant to be. And they are based in our hometown, so that makes it even better. :) I was already a fan of SBBR, just fanned Insect Shield, and as far as tell, I'm a blog follower. I just need to update my profile picture, but hopefully that doesn't make a difference.

ReplyDeleteAwesome giveaway! I have 5 kids and live in an area that is over run by mosquitoes. There are specific times during the day that they can go outside without being bitten. It really limits their playtime. This hammock would be GREAT as we could enjoy some outdoor time together, without becoming a snack for those darn bugs!
